Yuto Yamanouchi-Williams' tenure with the Nevada men's basketball team came to an end before he played a game for the Wolf Pack.

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound forward said Monday he will enter the transfer portal. Yamanouchi-Williams redshirted with Nevada last season and was practicing with the team last week.

"After talking with my family, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining," Yamanouchi-Williams tweeted. "I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready for the next chapter. Thank you to the University of Nevada, my coaches, teammates and the Wolf Pack fans for all the support."

Originally from Japan, Yamanouchi-Williams will look for his fourth college after playing at Lamar as a freshman and Portland as a sophomore. Yamanouchi-Williams committed to Wyoming last offseason before asking out of that commitment following the Cowboys' late coaching change. He then signed with Nevada and redshirted last year in preparation for his final two years of college.

Yamanouchi-Williams has played in 40 college games, averaging 7.4 points and 6.5 rebounds on 41.7 percent shooting, including 31.6 percent from three. He was due to redshirt with Portland in 2023-24 before being pushed into the starting lineup due to midseason roster changes for the Pilots. He averaged 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 43.8/35.6/.56.7.

Yamanouchi-Williams is the third Nevada player to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining Nick Davidson, who has committed to Clemson, and Justin McBride, who remains uncommitted.

Here is Nevada's updated 2025-26 roster tracker.
